No. A rest day does not authorise a foreign domestic helper to work for another person. Under clause 4(b) of Hong Kong’s Standard Employment Contract, a helper must not take other employment, including part-time domestic work, with anyone else. The employer must not require or allow this.
The Immigration Department also confirms that the employer’s consent does not make a part-time job permissible. Unapproved employment can breach the helper’s conditions of stay. If you are unsure whether a proposed task is permitted, check with the Immigration Department before accepting it.
