Cambodian helpers are rare in Hong Kong. See what to check before hiring, the home-country paperwork question, and how to browse reviewed profiles.
Cambodian domestic helpers are rarely seen in Hong Kong, so profiles appear on HelperDoc only occasionally. Candidates usually speak Khmer as their first language, and their English or Cantonese depends on what jobs they have done before; experience also varies widely. If you are open to a helper from Cambodia, look carefully at the language level and work history in her profile and arrange a video interview before you shortlist.
Cambodia manages overseas recruitment through licensed recruitment agencies, and its rules on domestic work abroad have changed over the years. Before you plan around a Cambodian candidate, our licensed Hong Kong office can check whether deployment to Hong Kong is currently possible and which home-country documents she would need. We do not give you a timeline until that has been confirmed.
If the hire goes ahead, Hong Kong law applies in full: the Standard Employment Contract (ID 407), the Minimum Allowable Wage of HK$5,220 a month for contracts signed on or after 3 October 2026, free food or at least HK$1,236 a month in food allowance, a weekly rest day and statutory holidays. In the meantime you can browse every reviewed helper profile on HelperDoc free and filter by nationality, contract status and available-from date.
Hong Kong's FDH arrangement is open to Cambodian nationals, but Cambodia's own rules on domestic work abroad have changed over time. Our licensed office checks whether a hire is currently possible before you commit.
The same as for every foreign domestic helper in Hong Kong: at least HK$5,220 a month for contracts signed on or after 3 October 2026 (contracts at HK$5,100 signed on or before 2 October 2026 are still accepted if submitted to the Immigration Department by 30 October 2026), plus free food or a food allowance of at least HK$1,236 a month.
